smoMashup to speak at Cleveland’s eMarketing Techniques Series

Though it might surprise you, I spend most of my time doing actual work and not just running around spreading the love of web marketing to the masses. Granted I’ve had more than my fair share of speaking to clients and groups of potential clients about various subjects but I’ve not officially had a public speaking engagement… ’til now that is.

That’s right loyal readers. Monday is the first in what I hope to be a long string of educational presentations that I am going to participate in. My first scheduled gig is helping to present a 2 hour gig as part of the highly successful eMarketing Technique Series at Cleveland’s Corporate College East. I will be presenting SEO with fellow Cleveland SEO members John Inama from Pilot Fish and Dave Goebel from the Goebel Group.

Here’s a brief intro to the 5 week series..

Fun with SMO and Powerpoint

I know, I know. Fun and Powerpoint should not be in the same sentence but bear with me for a moment. Yesterday for work I had to give a short presentation on Social Media Optimization and Social Media Marketing, essentially why I thought our company should persue these outlets more and what my role would be. Well I didn’t really know what to expect or prepare as everyone present has heard me rant and they probably already think I’m a bit of a nutter. So instead of spending hours on a full projection plan, I decided to use my brief prep period to create a powerpoint that would highlight why we should be more involved in the social media landscape.

Here are the results:
