Social Media Optimization Interview
Let it be known that I’m not a huge fan of video. Now don’t get me wrong.. I know how popular video is. I enjoy watching goofy stuff on YouTube and I know it’s an emerging field as far as web marketing goes, however when it comes to information pieces I just can’t ignore the facts:
- Most of you come off looking like slimy infomercials or at best, bad Mac vs. PC ripoffs
- There’s not much that you could cover in a video that I couldn’t absorb faster by reading.
- I look/feel horrible on film
Regardless of my reservations, some people are into videos and worse comes to worse, occasionally I must oblige and be a part of them. That said, in watching this, the facts are still applicable but hopefully I’ll be able to overcome my personal reservations and someone, somewhere will benefit. So behold, my first, and yes completely impromptu interview with Sage Lewis of Web Marketing Watch:
Social Media Optimization Interview:
I hope my headache isn’t too obvious and that I was able to hold it together for you…

I did learn lots of new things and you did look nervous, but good job!
Hey Thanks Erika-Nicole! I figure, over time I might get more comfortable in front of the camera but I’m glad you got something out of it nonetheless.
Watching the video made me an instant fan of your blog. I’ll be staying tuned to your feed, rather than blindly scanning your headlines like I do with most of the rest of my feeds. I now have a feel for your personality (and I decided I like you) and you provided me with valuable information. That combination piqued my interest, so now you’ve got my attention and I’ll be staying tuned. It’s def. different than just reading the info. I could do some stretches while still absorbing the info. Oh, and about your nervousness, it made you seem that much more like a real person, which I appreciated immensely. Don’t get too polished or you’ll be like everyone else (bleh).
Thanks for the kind words Zhenya! Keep your eye open for big changes happening here soon.
